Draft Poultry Code of Practise Released for Public Comment

The Chicken Farmers of Canada, Canadian Poultry and Egg Processors Council, Turkey Farmers of Canada, Canadian Hatching Egg Producers and the National Farm Animal Care Council (NFACC) are pleased to announce the launch of the public comment period on the draft Code of Practice for the Care and Handling of Hatching Eggs, Breeders, Chickens and Turkeys. The public comment period allows stakeholders ‐ poultry producers, consumers and others with an interest in the welfare of poultry ‐ to view the draft Code and provide input to the final Code.

Recognizing Signs of Mental Health Issues in Agriculture Two Day Workshop

The importance of identifying and supporting mental health needs in agriculture is increasingly being recognized particularly in relation to a disease outbreak, euthanasia or other stressful situations. Being able to identify the warning signs in a farmer client, veterinarian colleague, or yourself, is very important in order to get the help needed. Join us for this two-day course that will help identify risk factors, signs and symptoms for mental health conditions and issues using examples specifically related to agriculture.
